The Demise of the demon "Hiranyakashibu"
After his brother demise,he went for the fierce penance to obtain the "Immortality".but he was refused,in alternate,he got the super natural power of "not killed by human or the animal - not killed in day or night - not killed at out or In".With this power,he captured the three world under his control and ruined the celestials and humans to pray him as their god, there after.
But,his son "Prahalaatha',who was a devotee of Lord Vishnu, only prayed Vishnu,as his god. This annoyed the demon, and asked his soldiers to kill his son,in order to influence him,to accept Hiranyakashibu as the god.He made many attempts, but all in vain, due to the eminent devotion of his son with Lord Vishnu. This eminent devotion had been built within him even from the birth itself of Prahalaatha, since the sage "Naaratha" told the glories of Lord Vishnu to his mother, when he was in the womb.
At last, with the anger reach at the peak,Hiranyakahibu asked his son that where was his god Vishnu. At once,Prahalaatha answered that he would reside even in the pillar or in the piece of stick (in colloquial Tamil,as quote "Thoonilum iruppaan,Thurumbilum iruppaan).Hiranyakashibu's anger reached the apex, and pointed out a pillar, whether Lord Vishnu would reside in it. "Yes,indeed",Prahalaatha answered without any hesitation.
Hiranyakashibu,at once, with the help of his Kathaayutha (a unique weapon of the celestials),made that pillar into pieces. From that pillar,"Lord Narashimaa" came out and took the demon to the door step ( since it was neither 'in' nor 'out'),at the time of dusk (since it was neither 'day' nor 'night'),in form of "Lion headed human",as "Narashimma" (since he was neither man nor animal),pierced his belly with his tearing nails, and garlanded his intestine,as like flowers.
