We are very thankful to contact you directly about our program that assists Iraqi women and their families. The purpose of this letter is to request financial support in bringing a delegation of 12-15 Iraqi women to visit three United States cities (South Carolina; Utah; and New York) during October 2009 as part of an educational and cultural exchange program.


We seek corporate sponsorships and private contributions to assist in making this trip a success. Many corporations, volunteers, and non-profit groups who are like minded in their support for our work in Iraq will be participating.

Bringing the “Women for Future- Iraq” delegates here will be a wonderful cultural and educational exchange for the Iraqi delegates and will generate positive press for all those who participate. Activities include an educational exchange with 20 Chambers of Commerce from different local communities, keys to the city, VIP receptions with sponsorship recognition, a cultural exchange, outreach meetings with public officials and political leaders, media events and press conferences with national and international media, and a very special day for the “Fields of Hugs and Healing” outreach and awareness event (see footnote).

The work that “Women for Future – Iraq” is doing is a very positive story coming out of Iraq, and it is now time for many more people to hear about it. The national and international media will be present to cover this event, and we would be honored and very thankful to have your participation as a major sponsor or private contributor of our activities during these events. We are looking for sponsorships to cover the round trip air travel costs from Iraq for some of the women in the delegation and for the "Healing Fields" and "Hugs for Healing" day. Also, because time is of the essence, we are prepared to participate in teleconference sessions as soon as possible - please see the footnote below for more details about these activities.

Footnote:

FUTURE and other sponsors are organizing the “Fields of Hugs and Healing” event. The participants of this event will include the following: The national and international media, VIPs, military personnel and their families, “Gold Star” families, political leaders, the general public, corporations, local businesses, and civic and educational organizations.

General concept: “Fields of Hugs and Healing” is an awareness and fund raiser event. Iraqi delegates with Gold Star family members will participate in a “Hugs for Healing” luncheon. The purpose of this event is for the Iraqi delegates to meet with selected Gold Star family members and to share their experiences, hug, and heal. Then, they will be taken to a field of acres of American flags for an opening ceremony where the Iraqi delegates will walk through the fields with the Gold Star survivors. After this private event, the “Healing Fields” will be open to the general public. Each flag will be sponsored by various groups, civic organizations, boy scouts, schools, and the general public.
