In September 2002 I started Alleman Ideas. It's not a company but a way of life. Getting ideas from all kind of sources and combinations. Turning ideas into concepts, talk about it with known and unknown friends.
One of the ideas was Hug Your Customer. A good friend gave me a book called Hug Your Customers written by Jack Mitchell. A family man and business owner in Connecticut, USA. By reading this book I sensed that there was more. I got in touch with Jack and met him in his hometown Westport. By exchanging ideas and thoughts we got a connection, and Jack granted me with the rights for Europe to leverage on the ideas and lessons of Hug Your Customers.
The only way to stay in business is with customers. Knowing how to attract them, and how to keep them. Hug Your Customer is a simple but winning approach to customer service, that a relationship is at the heart of every transaction. Hug Your Customer business philosophy is based on 'hugs', personal touches that impress and satisfy the customer, such as:
• Remembering the name of the customers dog
• Calling a customer to make sure he's satisfied after a purchase
• Knowing your customer's favourite sports
• Introducing customers to business contacts
• Letting your customer use your office to make a personal call
This is a proven theory, hugging works!
Hug Your Customer shows how any business can adept this philosophy to attract great staff, lower marketing costs, maintain higher gross margins and long-term revenues. At a time when customer service has become the difference between success and failure, Hug Your Customer shows you how this philosophy brings the results you're looking for.
Hug Your Customer is more than just customer service. It's about do you have a plan to conduct business, do you have the expertise to execute it and do you attract the right people to talk about it. Looking after your visibility and credibility.
Another idea was Travelogue Company. Founded in may 2005.
Looking at Dutch hotel booking sites for consumers it was only possible to book the cheapest hotel. Everyone offers the biggest discount, the lowest rates and how easy it was to book. Yeah right! No one was asking why you would like to book a hotel, what was the reason to do so. Or what would you like to experience. Hiking in the countryside, a weekend away without the kids, celebrating a birthday, enjoying a good dinner in a beautiful castle, relaxing and wellness. So I started with a few websites where you can find selected hotels around an experience. For instance only castles. Or hotels at the Dutch beachside. Or good hotels with outstanding restaurants. This has become MyPerfectWeekend.nl.
And if you can't find it or don't want to search let us know what you want. And you will receive several offerings based on your wishes.
What we did for the consumer market we are doing it now for the business market as well. Helping SME and Corporate to find their perfect location for meetings, brainstorm sessions and events.
Today we operate more than 40 different websites with Travelogue Company. And are expanding into the Belgium market.
Just launched: Welverdiend.nl
