Open Networkers

Hi,

I have a couple of questions to help me in my work with Real Estate offices. My coaching work has naturally started to include Social Networking as a big part of the help that business people need.

1. If we are not already connected, please consider connecting with me. When I am doing presentations on the overhead projector the more people that I show in my network the better. I sincerely love to connect and get to know you!
2. Do you have any stories or suggestions in helping people to connect with people that can actually lead to potential business in their markets? It is very hard to convince people that work in a local market that it is to their advantage to meet all the lovely new people that I enjoy meeting every day. They need to focus on potential business for their upcoming quarter/year. I am still struggling to teach people that “this internet thing” is worth their time!

I am a professional resume writer who utilizes LinkedIn as both a means to connect with potential clients and as a rich resource of additional service professionals for my client base. I have been leveraging LinkedIn for about 5 years now and it is a fantastic business tool.

You must set up your company as a service provider. Collect recommendations from past clients to increase your ranking in search results to a high position. You also gain additional exposure when you answer questions.

A great (and short) book on LinkedIn was written by Jason Alba. It's called, "I'm on LinkedIn, now what?" I highly recommend this book for you to get a sense of how this social network can be utilized by business professionals.
