You probably have heard by now about Klout and Peerindex, the 2 social influence measurement systems that are very popular these days. Especially, there is lot's of Buzz around Klout and it's new way of measuring Influence.Apparently Klout is now more focused on measuring Engagement than real influence which caused a lot of rankings to drop massively. This leads to much controversy as you can…Continue

"The stereotypical Google+ user is a male engineer, but that’s only half right. According to new research, Google+ is still definitely male-skewing, but students outnumber software engineers by a wide margin. That’s one of the most compelling bits of data compiled by Website-Monitoring. A little more than a half year after launch, Website-Monitoring took a look at the demographics behind Google+. One surprise is the number of students on the network — 20%. That compares to the next most-popular profession on the list, software engineers (2.65%). Consultants and managers are also popular on the network. Men also make up 67% of G+’s audience. That’s an improvement over July, when males made up 86.8% or 73.7% of G+, depending on the source." - Evgeni Leshtanski

Evgeni Leshtanski: Help End Wikipedia Ignorance

Help End Wikipedia Ignorance
"Wikipedia has been called the most influential website in the world. When Wikipedia went “black” last month in protest along with others, it helped stop a Congressional effort to pass SOPA/PIPA dead in its tracks. It’s fair to say, Wikipedia is influential. Yet in a world filled with data, research, workshops, and experts, most marketers still don’t understand how Wikipedia works or its impact on their image. And those who attempt to manage their brand on Wikipedia without an understanding of how to edit appropriately may find themselves in an embarrassing flap. Assumptions and misinformation easily spread in a vacuum of real knowledge about Wikipedia. It’s about time we debunk some common myths." - Evgeni Leshtanski

Recent Blog Posts > Do brands in a category always revert to mediocrity?
"It is an indisputable fact that purchasing in product and service categories obeys the law of Double Jeopardy. This is - stated at its most simplistic - an empirical generalization that higher market share brands achieve stronger customer loyalty than lower market share brands in the same category. But the thing that always intrigues me is whether all brands obey the Double Jeopardy law to the same degree all of the time." - Evgeni Leshtanski
